Thanks so much to all staff during my seven months rehabilitation; for the caring and concern you showed from helping me with personal items to making doctors' appointments and keeping my daughter updated on everything.

Love, Pat R.

With extreme gratitude to the staff and personnel of St. Augustine Manor, in conjunction with the Holy Family Hospice, for the consummate level of care given to my Uncle Robert in his final days of need, your kindness and caring are much appreciated.

Sincerely, Don D.

Hello, my name is Laura Haring. I am the receptionist at St. Augustine Manor Child Enrichment Center. We have had Miss Tracy come to our center for quite a while now. I wanted to share with you an occurrence that happened on last Tuesday. Although, Tracy entertains us on Fridays normally, she came in on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving due to our closing on that Friday. She was with our preschoolers, when I had a prospect parent and grandparent come through the preschool room. The mother was looking to enroll her children in our center, but wanted to take a tour and get some information first. The grandmother accompanied her in this quest. The mother was happy to see our preschool kids having fun with the beautiful music.

The grandmother was completely taken-aback and overjoyed at such a precious sight. When I came to escort the mother and grandmother to my reception area, the grandmother was completely involved, dancing, clapping, etc. When I finally got them to my reception desk to talk "business", the grandmother had to have a seat. She had to catch her breath and wipe her tears of joy. She told her daughter in Spanish, how beautiful that was and that the kids would love to have that experience as well. The mother told me that the grandmother loved that. That she'd never seen anything like that before. After we got all squared away with the paperwork, they cut back through the preschool room to exit, but not before stopping and enjoying the show a bit longer. The children were enrolled the following Monday.

We are pleased with our center and all that we have to offer children and parents, but Miss Tracy and the Beck Center programs add that special touch that not too many other centers have. Thanks to Miss Tracy and to the Beck Center for bringing enjoyment not only to us and our children in our center, but also to parents and grandparents just taking the tour!!:)

To Whom It May Concern:

On Friday March 12, 2010, I had the pleasure of observing a music therapy session conducted by Tracy Phillips, MT-BC, at St. Augustine Children Center in Cleveland.  The session, which was held with 3-5 year olds, left me utterly impressed.  I saw that music was a very valuable tool for teaching the children social, academic and motor skills.  I was most impressed with the young children’s attentiveness.  They were all well behaved, captivated by the music and happy to participate and follow directions.  It was also very nice to see their teachers partake in the session.  How marvelous it was to witness young children who were both attentive and well-mannered in a facility that obviously cared deeply about their long-term success.  Most of all, I enjoyed seeing how music therapy was an effective way in motivating the young students to operate at their very best.   Thank you for allowing me to observe such an exciting and inspiring group!

Kindly, Jaclyn B

Thanks to the management and  staff of St. Augustine Health Campus for the excellent care and attentiveness to our brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Geraldine Kerrigan.  Our prayer are with you as you care for the residents of this facility.

With deep gratitude,

Dear Brigid and Nancy,

I wanted you both to know how much I appreciated the care and kindness my father (Frank Kocurko) received while staying at St. Augustine Towers.  Many times the two of you and other staff went well above and beyond expectations.

It seems Frank is "rounding third and heading home," as the late Casey Coleman used to say.  Hopefully my dad will continue to receive great care and kindness at his next stop.  Please make my feelings known to all staff, especially the nurses and Anita, the former director who also was so very kind towards my dad.

Sincerely,
Tom Kocurko

It has been two weeks now and I can’t describe our loss of Brittany.  But when Kathy, Lexi and I look back at Brittany’s days at St. Augustine, we cannot be more happy.  The nurses, technicians, aids and doctors were truly wonderful to work with.  It is difficult for us to visit St. Augustine’s at this time but we hope time heals our open emotions and we can visit in the future.  I would like to thank everyone who helped Brittany recover to the extent she did.  I think the only words I can use is “Love” and God’s miraculous mystery.  It appears to us that Brittany touched many lives and we wish to say to you that you truly touched our lives too.  We also would like to thank everyone who supported us at our time of loss and wish everyone the best.

Please stay in contact as Kathy, Lexi and I believe you are a part of our family.

God be with you,
Dennis, Kathy & Lexi Moir

My mom, Regina, Malarek, was in St. Augustine Manor for rehabilitation after falling and fracturing her pelvis.  She stayed for about a month and was discharged right before Thanksgiving in 2009.  We are writing to let you know how pleased we were with so many of the staff.  She was on the fourth floor where Anne ran a very tight ship, always knowing what was going on and making sure things were getting done properly.  Renata, her nurse, had an especially great attitude to help and keep us informed at all times.  Gayle and Robin were also very good.  The aides, especially Yolanda, Berrie and Robert, were so kind and helpful.  Marcie and Chris were administrative back-up and Mary in P/T was a favorite of my mom’s.  I’ve forgotten the name of her O/T lady, who was also wonderful.

There were challenges along the way – several infections, fevers, diarrhea and CHF.  But the bottom line is that she recuperated and moved on.  In these tight financial times it is not easy to run this kind of facility and the people you have are quite wonderful.  Just wanted to say thank you and make this  donation.  Please use it as you see fit but it would be nice to see it used for the staff on the fourth floor, if possible.

She was also living at St. Augustine Towers in 2009 and we were also very, very pleased with everyone there.  We sent a separate check and letter to Brigid, thanking her, Nancy, Kathy and so many of the staff at that facility.  They were all so kind and caring.

Getting old is no fun but St. Augustine Health Campus certainly made my mom’s experiences better with their caretaking, expertise and attention.

Thank you and God Bless You All,
E. Miller

The family of Robert Blaseg would like you to know that our deepest gratitude goes out to the staff of St. Augustine for the care they provided him in his last few days of life.  They provided not only quality care, but the compassion that should go with it.

The St. Augustine staff from nursing to admissions as well as the chaplain and support staff were outstanding and so appreciated by my family.  We feel St. Augustine Health Campus is one of the best facilities in our area.  You should be very proud of your staff and the services you provide.

Just a few lines to thank your whole staff, who kept an eye on and looked out for our aunt, Millie Stepancik.  Since we were not that close by, it was nice to know others were...to be not only our eyes and ears, but her friend.  Thank you all.  God Bless.

I just want to take a few moments to share with you, in writing, my satisfaction with the care that Charlie is receiving on 4 South.  Haifa manages the unit so well and I am very pleased with the direct care from Rick, Karen and the other nurses, plus from the technicians Lynne and Joy.  It is such a relief to know he is in good hands.  Jonathon has been most helpful when I've asked him for a favor.  What a great team on that floor.

But I especially want to write complimentary words about Ernestine Watson.  She seems to be Charlie's primary aide (excuse me if that is an incorrect title), and she takes special efforts in his care, as I'm sure she does with other patients.  She is kind and communicative with me and does her job without complaining.  I am glad I've had a chance to know her.

This has been a hard road for Charlie and for myself over the past 7 years.  But the dozens of people who give so much, make the facility seem like a home.  Indeed, I missed it early this year when Charlie was hospitalized.  I have shared with the 4 South folks that my bottom line for Charlie is to be kept Clean and Comfortable.  So far they are achieving that goal.  If he can be kept out of the hospital - that is even better.

This has been a hard year, too, for St. Augustine, with the concerns for loss of government support.  I hope the solutions you decide upon will be less a hardship and more of a discipline that is easy for staff and patients to embrace.

Please know that I am ever grateful for the mission and the environment of St. Augustine.

Sincerely
E.  King

P.S.  I so love the Healing Garden.  What an addition!

To the entire staff of the East Wing of St Augustine:  Thank You!  Thank You!  Thank You!
For all that you are and all that you did for me while I was under your care.

Love - Peace - Joy,
C. Porter

My dear Esmi and Friends of St. Augustine Manor,

Just wanted to take a minute to say “Thank You” for all you do to take care of my husband and all the “Resident Family” at the Manor and Towers.

We, my husband, Anthony, and I, have been in “The Family” for eight months now.  From the first day up in TCU until the present in 335D, Anthony has been taken care of by the most competent, caring, loving, heroic people I’ve ever met.  Sincerely, I love everyone in the facility from the 5th floor to the Ground floor.  I know that Anthony and all the residents are safe and secure in your care.

A real sincere “God Bless You All” for working so hard to keep the ship afloat!  Our people cannot afford to be compromised in any way by a system who has proven to be intolerant of those who, to them, are a burden to society…the aged and infirm, the unborn, the poor and the homeless.  All are snickered at and held in low esteem.  What a travesty.  That’s definitely not the case in St. Augustine’s.  All the staff from all divisions are doing what they all do from their hearts.  I feel that as soon as I come in the building.  A deep love.  Thank you All!

God Bless in Jesus’ Name
Mary F (Anthony’s wife)

Dear Brigid,

This is nothing but my way of saying "Thank You" to all of the wonderful folks who spend their days taking such good care of my dad and his brother.  Although all of the staff clearly bend over backw3ard to ensure that the residents enjoy the best quality of life possible, I would like to mention specifically you and Nancy on the admin. side, nurses Shalia, Anita, Dianne and Darren, who gave (GIVE!) such loving care to their changes and on the dining room and housekeeping sides, Carmen and Vince, Lisa and Elizabeth, and Connie, Bonnie and Whitney.

Thank you for the peace we always felt at St. Augustine Towers (Assisted Living).

Best regards to you all,
Tony K.

To The Child Enrichment Center

I cannot grasp the thought of leaving you all, nor can I stand the thought of knowing that you all won't be there every step of the way supporting me from kindergarten throughout high school and then into college.  You all have become part of my family and a part of me.  Throughout this journey I will take what I have learned from each and every one of you and apply it as though you were standing there watching over me.  I will say goodbye because as long as I am still alive and my heart is still beating, I will always know deep inside that this is not the end and that my second chapter has just begun.

Thank you all with heartfelt joy and tears,
The Pre-School Graduation Class of 2009 and their Parents

To the 4th Floor Staff:

Thanks for your wonderful care for our Mom, Jean Black, in February.  Hope you all have a grand Easter!

Gratefully,
Family of Jean Black & Jean (She's doing fine!)

You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for being there for my mother especially when we couldn’t be. You are so loving and loved for all you do. I know it must be hard at times and that you don’t always receive the credit you deserve. Thanks for the love and for the hugs. Your care and generosity supported not only my mother, Jessie, but me as well. Without all of you I could not have persevered. There are no words to thank you all enough but I do thank you! Your reward in Heaven will be GREAT!

Dear Mr. Gareau,

I wish to let you know that my stay for five months has been wonderful.

I wish to compliment the nursing staff for their high skills and professionalism, the nursing assistants for their professional care and the OT & PT departments for giving me the gift of walking and making sure I didn’t give up.  Everyone was wonderful.

There is no superlative in the English language that can describe the care I received.  Keep up the good work and God bless all.

Sincerely,
Charles Urich

To St. Augustine Towers Staff,

I want to thank all of you (and your families who support you in your work) for the friendliest welcome I believe I have ever had. ALL of you are so helpful and thoughtful. ALL of you are just like Jesus, who always gave of Himself to others. I already (after on 3 days here) feel you are a new FAMILY to me because of your LOVING CARE! Thank you ALL! May the PEACE of Jesus Christ be with you always and may His grace and joy abound in you all the days of your lives.

Ken Wacker

"I would like to take a moment and thank all of you for everything that you are doing for my mother. Due to certain circumstances I am unable to be there, but I feel much better and have a little piece of mind knowing that my mother is somewhere that people care about making the life of someone else a little better. I would also like to thank the administration for helping my mom the way that you have. The things you have done and are doing, go far beyond what I have ever seen any employer do for their employees. Thanks again. I can actually say that I know of a company, where the employer actually cares about their employees."

Susan Jackiewicz and family

Two years ago I lost my mom to cancer and I felt a huge hole was put into my heart and that my life was ruined. Shortly after that, when my grandmother was in need of nursing home care, my family brought her here to St. Augustine. While visiting my grandmother, I began to get to know the staff and other residents. I began to feel like I had a purpose and that I could make a huge difference by helping others who are in need. I feel like this is my second family. Staff, residents, and other volunteers are very nice. The staff and volunteers are dedicated and you can see it in their heart. They go over and beyond the call of duty for the residents. St. Augustine has been a blessing in my life and will always have a special place in my heart.

My husband and I visited my Mother, Florence last week. It was only for a day – unfortunately, we live in Georgia and I cannot be there as much as I want to. The staff was attentive, friendly and caring. I greatly appreciated seeing this, since I am so far away. My Dad and siblings do visit her, but knowing she is well attended to by the staff is comforting.

It is hard to see someone you care about, someone who was so full of life, unable to care for herself. It breaks my heart, but it is comforting to know that the staff at St. Augustine is doing such a wonderful job. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and count ones blessings. I would just like to thank everyone on the 4th floor, and the entire facility, for all they do to make things easier for these patients, especially my Mom. It is very much appreciated. God Bless!

What can I say? You have been wonderful. The best decision we made was for Mom to come and stay at the Towers. I know mom wasn’t there very long, just five short months, but during that time, she did more living than she had in the last 10 years and that is beyond comforting to us. She enjoyed all the activity that was around her. She appreciated the fact that she could watch or participate at her own discretion. She had the opportunity to meet so many new friends and involve herself in whatever she wanted. She was proud of her new surroundings and she enjoyed having someone come to visit.
